The Ashford Rise Preschool After-school Group Leader is responsible for the supervision and well-being of a group of assigned children ages 6 months to 6 years after school. The Ashford Rise School of Dallas at the Moody YMCA is an inclusive preschool for children with and without learning/developmental disabilities. This position is part-time, with hours from Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 5:30 PM, while The Rise School is in session. No weekends are required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Coordinator in operating the aftercare program, adhering to TDFPS standards and YMCA policies
  • Actively engage with participants in activities
  • Supervise and maintain the health and well-being of enrolled children
  • Maintain and inventory supplies needed for the program
  • Report incidents or suspected child abuse to the Program Director promptly
  • Maintain professionalism and interact appropriately with families and professionals
  • Attend scheduled meetings and training sessions
  • Assist with program set-up and clean-up
  • Participate in emergency drills and implement safety procedures
  • Complete additional site-specific responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • One year or more of experience working with children
  • Strong understanding of child development and educational practices

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
