We are seeking a Research Associate to join our Analytical Development team in Santa Monica, CA. This role reports to a Sr. Manager and involves managing starting materials, in-process samples, and final products from various departments, assisting with cell culture, cell banking, cryopreservation, and laboratory data management.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $30.00/hr on W2
  • Duration: 12 Months-Contract

Skills

  • Strong aseptic technique in primary and mammalian cell culture
  • Data documentation proficiency, particularly in electronic lab notebooks (ELN)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of statistical programming languages such as R and Python is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Cryopreserve cell therapy samples from clinical trials and development programs
  • Support sample management for routine in-process testing
  • Perform data documentation in ELN to capture sample processing procedures and parameters
  • Analyze cell count data for samples
  • Conduct general lab activities such as formulating media, culturing cells, passaging cells, and organizing samples
  • Provide training on sample and inventory management systems
  • Develop SOPs and work instructions for sample management activities
  • Take on other duties as assigned, including occasional weekend support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar laboratory role
  • Prior biological sample management experience is a plus
  • Understanding of GxP requirements is essential
  • Comfortable adjusting workload based on changing priorities
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented

  • Bachelor’s degree in cell biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field required

  • 2+ years of relevant laboratory experience
  • Experience with aseptic techniques and primary and mammalian cell culture
