The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for current and future positions for Associate Grant Accountant, Grant Accountant, and Senior Grant Accountant. Research is a vital mission of the University of Nevada, Reno. The Grant Accountants are located within the Office of Sponsored Projects and are responsible for managing grant post-award accounting and financial reporting functions. The Grant Accountants are responsible for ensuring fiscal accountability for stewardship of public funds. The Senior Grant Accountants reports to the Post Award Manager and the Grant Accountants and Associate Grant Accountants report to the Senior Grant Accountants. Associate Grant Accountant The Associate Grant Accountants will assist the Grant Accountants with budget setup, budget revisions and account closeouts. The Grant Accountants are responsible for sending out invoices and financial reports to sponsors and sending out standard letters for collection on accounts receivable and assisting with pulling documents for audits and other duties as assigned. Grant Accountant In addition to the duties, functions and responsibilities of the Associate Grant Accountant, the Grant Accountants are responsible for the compliant preparation and submission of sponsor invoices, reviewing expenditures for allowability, allocability and reasonableness, reconciliation of accounts, preparation of financial reports, and account closeout. This position requires frequent interaction with sponsors in the areas of financial reporting, invoicing, and general problem resolution. Grant Accountants assist in the development of post-award policies and procedures to maintain compliance with federal, state, University and granting agency requirements. This position serves as a consultant to principal investigators and other university faculty and staff regarding post-award processes. Senior Grant Accountant The Senior Grant Accountant performs all duties of the Grant Accountant at expert level. This position serves as a team lead administrator and works collaboratively with the Post Award Manager to provide training, instruction, and guidance in a full range of extramural support to faculty and staff. The Senior Grant Accountant will serve as a primary resource for the associate grant accountants, the grant accountants and campus and will assist in workflow management. Required Qualifications Associate Grant Accountant Bachelor’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience OR Master’s Degree and no work experience required. Related Experience: Accounting experience preferably with grants or related. Grant Accountant Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of related work experience OR Master’s Degree and one (1) year of related work experience Related experience: Accounting experience, preferably with grants or related. Senior Grant Accountant Bachelor’s Degree and four (4) years of related professional work experience OR Master’s Degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience Related Experience: Accounting experience preferably with grants or related.
