Description
The Automation Engineer will support and troubleshoot automated systems, including PLC programs, HMIs, and Vision systems. This role involves generating electrical schematics for control systems using CAD Software and encompasses project management, controls system design, hardwire design, and operator interface design. The Automation Engineer will oversee installations and provide service support, designing and installing control systems to integrate with existing automated equipment. You will be responsible for programming and configuring custom equipment, developing and testing new features for next-generation products, and resolving design programming, sequencing, and electrical signaling issues. Additionally, this position entails troubleshooting higher complexity PLC programming, motion control, and encoder tracking.

Skills
- Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming, particularly RSLogix 5000, 500, and 5
- Experience with Rockwell FactoryTalk View Machine Edition HMI programming
- Familiarity with Cognex Insight Programming and VisionPro integration
- Competence in Visual Basic Scripting for machine vision programming
- Knowledge of 2D CAD design for electrical schematic generation using Draftsight and NanoCAD
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in high-complexity environments
Responsibilities
- Support and troubleshoot automated systems, PLC programs, and HMI systems

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific field
- Preferred area of study in Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, or similar
- Experience with Emerson Syncade and Delta V software platforms
- Understanding of FDA regulated environments and validation experience
- Familiarity with 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5, and related regulatory guidance
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline
- Preferred specialization in Electrical Engineering Technology or Computer Engineering
