EAC Network is seeking a dedicated Case Aide (preferably bilingual) for its seasonal Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) located in Hempstead, Nassau County. This full-time position requires availability from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of Nassau County residents seeking financial assistance with their energy costs.

Responsibilities

  • Interview and assess the eligibility of prospective clients for energy cost assistance
  • Process client applications and complete required forms
  • Perform data entry according to guidelines from the Nassau County Department of Social Services
  • Interact with other agencies and heating and utility companies
  • Prepare and maintain appropriate records and departmental paperwork
  • Utilize necessary computer programs to perform job responsibilities

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or educational equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience in working with low-income households
