EAC Network is seeking Bilingual Crisis Counselors for the Project HOPE program located in Central Islip, NY. This is a Remote and Full-Time temporary position at 35 hours per week until 6/16/2021, offering $25 per hour. The Bilingual (English/Spanish) Crisis Counselor will provide crisis counseling services virtually or in-person, focusing on outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referrals when necessary. The Project HOPE Crisis Counseling Program (CCP) aims to assist individuals affected by Covid, helping them understand that emotional reactions are a normal response and develop coping skills to regain their pre-disaster functioning and stability while connecting them to community resources.

  • Conduct client assessments according to policies and procedures
  • Manage client interactions efficiently
  • Document client interactions accurately
  • Schedule virtual appointments and conduct community outreach
  • Provide professional assessments, consultations, and referrals
  • Attend case conferences, team meetings, and workshops
  • Maintain organized client files in a timely manner

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Health Discipline, Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience required
  • Must have access to transportation and possess a valid NYS ID

Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or educational equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
