EAC Network is seeking a Bilingual Family Advocate for the Child Advocacy Center Program located in Central Islip, NY. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, offering excellent benefits, including medical, dental, and 401K, along with very generous Paid Time Off (PTO). The Family Advocate is responsible for assisting the Child Advocacy Center Division Director in coordinating services for Spanish-speaking crime victims and their families.

Skills

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English
  • Proficient in computer applications such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office, and database software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills

  • Strong knowledge of administrative procedures

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between victims and social services agencies
  • Assist victims in preparing and filing paperwork necessary for victim compensation
  • Maintain case records as required
  • Coordinate with other victim service agencies to avoid duplication of services
  • Provide back-up and support to the CAC Division Director for office coverage
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical reports
  • Assist in administrative responsibilities of the Child Advocacy Center
  • Complete Medical Staff Vouchers accurately and submit purchase orders for services provided
  • Maintain Medical Staff database and records as required
  • Transport and escort clients to appointments as needed, including lifting and securing children in appropriate child restraint car seats

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures required
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in a related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in a relevant field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience in a related role
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures and office operations
