Accountax Business Group, LLC is the largest Spanish-speaking accounting firm in Louisiana, USA, serving small businesses and individuals with payroll, bookkeeping, taxes, and business services, primarily for the Latino community. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our remote team full-time, reporting to our Payroll & Audit Manager. In this role, you will manage end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of small business clients on weekly, biweekly, and monthly cycles.

Skills

• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
• Minimum 2 years of US payroll processing experience
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Payroll (Online or Desktop) and SurePayroll or comparable platforms
• Knowledge of Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, 1099-NEC
• Experience with FUTA and SUTA compliance
• Ability to handle certified payroll reporting (Davis-Bacon / government contracts)
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients in both languages

Responsibilities

• Process payroll using QuickBooks Payroll and SurePayroll or equivalent
• Prepare and file Forms 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and 1099-NEC
• Manage FUTA and Louisiana SUTA filings
• Process Louisiana state income tax withholding and reporting
• Handle certified payroll reporting for government contracts
• Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
• Communicate effectively with clients in English and Spanish

Qualifications

• Bilingual English and Spanish — spoken and written (non-negotiable)
• Minimum 2 years of US payroll processing experience
• Experience with QuickBooks Payroll and SurePayroll or comparable platforms
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and reporting requirements

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Certification in payroll processing (e.g., CPP or FPC) preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant experience in payroll processing within a multi-client accounting firm
• Demonstrated experience with certified payroll reporting and compliance
