The Civil Restoration Design Engineer (Hydrological Engineering) is a mid- to senior-level role responsible for leading and performing multi-faceted designs, calculations, and analyses related to natural resources, water resources, and civil engineering. You may specialize in areas such as civil, water resources, or coastal engineering, encompassing hydrology, hydraulics, geomorphology, environmental restoration, flood management, and water quality. This position is available at various Northern California locations including Oakland, San Francisco, Petaluma, Sacramento, or San Jose.

Skills

  • Proficient in design and modeling software such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, HEC RAS, and HEC HMS
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Leadership experience and mentoring capabilities

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical specialist and possibly a Project Manager for basic or moderately complex projects
  • Conduct hydrologic, hydraulic, and geomorphic modeling and analyses
  • Prepare engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Engage with clients and represent the firm in various meetings
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to junior staff
  • Participate in business development and marketing efforts

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of civil or water resources engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • EIT Certification or Professional Engineer license required
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks
