Description

Join the team at Sysco as a Driver, where you will be responsible for running daily routes with frequent stops, loading packages onto hand trucks, and unloading products at each designated location. Operating under a cross-dock model, you will pick up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery and return the empty truck to the assigned lot at the end of your route. You may occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and performing other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Manager.

Skills

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A)
  • Ability to operate vehicles in various traffic and weather conditions
  • Strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
  • Effective organizational and independent work skills
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic and handling money
  • Adaptability and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Run routes efficiently, meeting designated route times
  • Unload products using hand carts and place them in designated customer storage areas
  • Lift, push, or move products weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Verify delivery of items and communicate discrepancies to management
  • Handle customer complaints professionally
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections following DOT regulations

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • One year of route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
  • Must be able to read and understand English
