Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: \(75,000 - \)100,000.
  • Full-time, exempt/salary position.
  • Hybrid work model after 90 days (3 days in office / 2 days remote).
  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate property characteristics, claims history, and other relevant data to assess insurability and risk levels.
  • Conduct risk analysis and assessments in accordance with underwriting guidelines and state regulations.
  • Make decisions on insurance applications, including acceptance, rejection, or modification, based on underwriting policies.
  • Collaborate with agents, brokers, and customer service teams to communicate underwriting decisions and address inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company underwriting standards.
  • Regularly review the assigned book of business to maintain a balanced portfolio and identify growth opportunities.
  • Stay informed on market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to adjust underwriting practices as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with industry best practices and product updates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • 4+ years of commercial underwriting experience, specifically with CMP products.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to make sound decisions efficiently.
