Skills

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an approved psychiatric residency program
  • Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric experience under supervision in a residency program
  • NYS Board of Psychiatry certification and license
  • Current DEA registration
  • Expert diagnostic skills and knowledge of current DSM criteria
  • Familiarity with crisis assessment tools and techniques
  • Strong working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments of patients
  • Accurately diagnose mental disorders
  • Develop comprehensive treatment plans and prescribe medication as needed
  • Provide ongoing pharmacologic treatment and monitor patient progress
  • Participate in treatment planning and case conferences
  • Contribute to incident reviews as needed
  • Provide emotional support and strategies to help patients manage their disorders
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient diagnoses, symptoms, and treatment progress
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest developments in psychiatry and mental health

Qualifications

  • Doctorate degree required
  • DEA Certification required
  • Medical License required
