Responsibilities

  • Direct accounting operations for a portfolio of affordable housing properties
  • Provide financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
  • Lead and manage a small accounting team
  • Administer payroll, accounts receivable/payable, and general ledger management
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and financial procedures
  • Collaborate with the property management team on operational and financial goals
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Identify financial variances and carry out corrective actions
  • Oversee external audits and coordinate the preparation of tax returns

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Controller, preferably in affordable housing or real estate
  • Experience with financial compliance and GAAP regulations
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines
