Skills

• Basic bookkeeping and/or accounting knowledge
• Strong math skills
• Customer service orientation
• Familiarity with computerized accounting systems and software
• Proficient typing/data entry and clerical skills
• Excellent PC application skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Ability to work effectively with various individuals
• Prior telephone customer service experience (preferred)
• Previous insurance industry experience (helpful)

Responsibilities

• Processing insurance policy payments and reconciling accounts
• Addressing billing inquiries via phone and email
• Assisting agents with payment issues and system challenges
• Reviewing policy endorsements for completeness and risk acceptability
• Generating and utilizing system-generated reports
• Preparing reports, letters, and accounting forms using Microsoft Office
• Processing financial data accurately within accounting software
• Maintaining organized files
• Handling general underwriting queries

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree plus one or more years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Excellent communication skills
