Are you a detail-oriented logistics professional with experience in customs brokerage? We’re looking for a Customs Brokerage Entry Writer to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth clearance of goods through U.S. Customs by preparing and managing all necessary documentation.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: \(55,000 - \)65,000 (final compensation based on skills and experience)
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, in-office position (not remote or hybrid)

Skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit customs entries for imported shipments in a timely manner
  • Review shipping documents to verify accuracy and ensure compliance with customs regulations
  • Identify products subject to Other Government Agencies (OGA) requirements
  • Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and enter relevant OGA/PGA data
  • Communicate with customers regarding Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements, delivery updates, and shipment issues
  • Maintain tracking reports and monitor the status of open shipments
  • Coordinate with steamship lines, freight forwarders, and container freight stations (CFS) on shipment availability
  • Arrange transportation with trucking companies for pickup and delivery
  • Manage billing processes, including issuing invoices and approving freight bills
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or a related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage, including knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Certifications: A Customs Broker License is preferred but not required
