This is a full-time role with shift options from 3:00am to 11:00am or 11:30pm to 8:00am. Skills

• Strong understanding of laboratory procedures for specimen handling
• Knowledge of cytology and histology
• Proficient in data entry and laboratory computer systems (Antrim and CoPath)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to adhere to safety and infection control guidelines

Responsibilities

• Accurately handle and accession cytology and histology specimens
• Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling
• Correctly identify media used for specimen fixation
• Enter patient demographics, test codes, and physician information accurately
• Discard old specimens by date received
• Process and stain specimens onto slides according to established procedures
• Maintain quality of departmental resources and laboratory services
• Participate in safety and quality assurance programs
• Uphold HIPAA compliance and confidentiality
• Strive to maintain a clean and organized work environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
• ASCP certification required
• Prior lab experience and knowledge essential
