Summary Description: We are currently seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst - AS400 to DB2 Migration Specialist for a remote contract role. Your main responsibility will be leading the planning, design, and execution of the migration of legacy AS400 systems to DB2 on the AWS cloud platform for our esteemed client, DMI (FIS).

Skills:

• Strong proficiency in AS400 and DB2 databases
• In-depth knowledge of SQL and experience with query optimization
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services and database management (AWS certification is a plus)
• Experience with Informatica for ETL processes (preferred)

Responsibilities:

• Lead the planning and execution of the AS400 to DB2 migration project
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and data migration needs
• Assess and document current AS400 systems, including data structures, applications, and dependencies
• Design and implement migration strategies and workflows to move data and applications to DB2 on AWS
• Develop and optimize SQL scripts, ETL processes, and data migration routines
• Ensure data integrity, security, and performance during and after the migration
• Monitor and troubleshoot migration issues, providing timely resolutions
• Collaborate with AWS services for database hosting and management (AWS RDS, Aurora, etc.)
• Utilize Informatica for ETL processes and data integration (experience a plus)
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members involved in the migration
• Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to migration and cloud services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in AS400 development and administration
• Proven track record of leading successful migration projects
