We are seeking a driven and experienced Director & Actuary to join our Liability Analysis and Services team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping our hedging strategies for variable annuities and our flagship registered-indexed-linked-annuity product, Shield. Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary range of \(150,000 - \)175,000 per year
  • Performance-based incentives

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or Finance
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation (FSA designation advantageous)
  • Strong computing and programming skills, with Python preferred
  • Experience with actuarial modeling software, preferably PathWise
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Drive hedging analysis, including sensitivity testing, attribution, and forward-looking estimations
  • Analyze hedge performance, identify areas for improvement, and propose innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure consistency in production processes, methodologies, and reporting
  • Work with the model development team to document and approve model changes and improve processes
  • Prioritize, plan, and execute projects in partnership with the Leader of Hedging Liability Analysis
  • Enjoy the benefits of a hybrid work model, with the option to work remotely or in our Charlotte, NC office

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background in relevant fields
  • Relevant certifications and designations in actuarial science
  • Proven experience in actuarial analysis and financial decision-making
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage projects effectively

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics, or Finance

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Actuarial designation (ASA or FSA)

Experience Requirements

  • Previous experience in a role involving actuarial analysis and hedging strategies
  • Familiarity with actuarial modeling software and financial analysis tools
