The Counsel, Director of Equipment Leasing will be a key player in our New York office, responsible for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating direct origination and syndication documentation related to commercial equipment leasing and finance transactions. This role involves close collaboration with senior management and various departments to provide expert counsel on lien creation, perfection, priority, enforcement, and other commercial law matters.

Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate documentation for equipment leasing and finance transactions
  • Collaborate with senior management, sales, operations, credit, collections, and asset management
  • Provide counsel on lien creation, perfection, and enforcement matters
  • Draft workout agreements and collection-related documents, including surrender and purchase agreements

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New York State Bar
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment leasing or commercial finance law
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
