We are seeking a friendly Dog Groomer and Bather to perform all grooming and bathing-related duties to ensure that dogs are neat, clean, and looking their best. Responsibilities include bathing dogs of various sizes and temperaments, trimming, clipping, or shaving hair/fur, and removing matted hair. You will ensure that grooming tools and equipment are in good working condition and comply with dog owners’ instructions while accommodating any special requests. Ultimately, a top-notch Dog Groomer will treat all animals with the utmost love and care.

Skills

• High school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

1. Dematting and detangling hair as required
2. Bathing, conditioning, and drying dogs
3. Trimming dogs’ nails, brushing their teeth, performing anal expressions, cleaning their ears, etc.
4. Grooming and styling dogs according to owners’ instructions or standard grooming styles
5. Accommodating special requests from dog owners
6. Identifying health issues in dogs, such as ear infections, skin conditions, and tooth decay, and informing dog owners
7. Ensuring all dogs are safe during the grooming process
8. Routinely cleaning work areas
9. Recommending suitable products to dog owners

Qualifications

• Proven professional grooming experience
• Excellent understanding of dog behavior

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Certification through the National Dog Groomer Association of America or similar preferred
