Description

As a Driver Apprentice at Waste Management, you will work alongside experienced WM Drivers and/or WM Driver Trainers to receive training on safely operating a commercial motor vehicle. You will be responsible for providing excellent service to customers in your respective Line of Business (LOB) and will continue in this role until all training requirements are met.

Skills

  • Ability to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle

  • Ability to perform physical tasks as required

Responsibilities

  • Train with a WM Driver and/or WM Driver Trainer on vehicle operation
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles
  • Report unsafe situations or service-related issues immediately
  • Attend all scheduled training programs and meetings
  • Manually or mechanically load and empty residential and/or commercial containers
  • Communicate customer requests to Dispatch or Route Manager
  • Follow route assignments and complete end-of-day documentation

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
  • Successfully complete and pass pre-employment drug screen
