We are currently seeking two Paraprofessionals for our Passages Elementary School, which serves families from kindergarten through eighth grade and boasts a diverse student body representing over 40 languages. The Paraprofessionals will implement special education services for students with Individualized Education Plans (IEP) under the direction of the building principal and Case Manager.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: \(31,217.00 - \)37,634.00 per year
  • Dental, health, and vision insurance included

Skills

  • Valid Paraprofessional or Substitute License
  • Ability to physically assist students with special needs
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Effective communication skills for feedback and interaction
  • Proficiency in operating computers and office equipment
  • Capacity to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds on occasion

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand IEPs for students receiving services
  • Implement required services according to students’ IEPs
  • Collaborate with general and special education teachers
  • Attend field trips and school-wide activities with students
  • Monitor behavior of students with IEPs
  • Maintain documentation of services provided
  • Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with parents weekly
  • Follow all policies and procedures of Passages administration and AHS

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively under supervision
  • Proven success as a team member
  • Ability to manage health and safety issues proactively
  • Professional demeanor and punctuality

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Paraprofessional or Substitute License

Experience Requirements

  • Experience working with children, especially in an educational or support role
