The RN StaRN Residency Program is designed for recent nursing graduates to transition smoothly into the nursing profession. The initial schedule consists of Monday through Friday, 8 hours a day for 40 hours a week, with potential weekend shifts during the holidays. The preceptorship includes three 12-hour shifts per week and every other weekend at the hospital, following the preceptor’s schedule. Mandatory attendance for the entire program is required, which comes with certifications including BLS, ACLS, CPI, EKG, NIH Stroke Scale, and Meditech Modules.

  • Salary Range:
    • Med/Surg & PCU: $29.81
    • ICU: $30.94
    • Specialty: $32.79

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate from an accredited nursing school within the past 12 months.
  • No more than 6 months of RN experience, ideally less than 2 months of hospital experience.
  • Current FL RN license required prior to program start; compact license holders must obtain an active FL RN license within 90 days of hire.
  • Candidates who demonstrate a passion for nursing and patient care are preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing school.

  • Ideally less than 2 months of hospital experience and no more than 6 months of nursing home or home health experience.
