Description

We are actively seeking an Environmental Sampling Technician or Staff Level Environmental Scientist to join our award-winning Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation Consulting firm. You will assist with current and future environmental projects in Southern California, specifically in Ventura, Santa Barbara, or Burbank, California. In this role, you will perform environmental field work, including the collection of environmental media such as soil, groundwater, surface water, soil vapor, and indoor air. You will also be responsible for completing field documentation using both hand-written methods and app-based handheld devices, assisting the project team in integrating the collected data into reports that will inform future project decisions.

Skills

• 4+ years of experience sampling environmental media for Environmental Sampling Technician candidates
• 1-2+ years of environmental sampling or consulting experience for Staff Level Environmental Scientist candidates
• Knowledge of sampling various media including surface water, groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and air
• Familiarity with RCRA, CERCLA, and other environmental regulations
• Ability to conduct clear and concise documentation
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with project managers and team members
• Preferred: Current 40 Hour HAZWOPER certification
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project)

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental field work and collect environmental media
• Complete field documentation and assist in data integration
• Communicate effectively with team members and project managers
• Troubleshoot issues independently in the field
• Prepare clear notes on field progress and other project aspects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or similar scientific field
• Must pass Federal Background Check for access to project sites
• Valid driving record and ability to pass DMV check
