Skills

• Knowledge of environmental compliance and waste management regulations, including RCRA and TSCA.
• Expertise in chemistry, biochemistry, or related environmental sciences.
• Familiarity with environmental data management tools and waste tracking systems.
• Skills in developing sampling plans and data analysis.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist waste generators in identifying and characterizing waste products, excess materials, and recyclable materials.
• Support the proper management of wastes in compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
• Assist in developing waste sampling plans and prepare waste characterization data packages.
• Sign and submit waste documentation for acceptance and certification review.
• Implement pollution prevention initiatives and identify waste packaging requirements.
• Participate in organizational reviews and assessments related to waste management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• At least five (5) years of relevant environmental and/or waste management experience in a DOE environment.
• Prior experience working with ORNL and a working knowledge of its environmental and waste management programs and procedures is preferred.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in environmental science and/or waste management.
• Experience in a DOE environment is highly desirable.
