Skills

• Extensive experience in representing creditors, secured lenders, and asset purchasers in workouts, restructurings, and business reorganizations
• Deep legal knowledge of bankruptcy cases, asset-based lending, and Illinois commercial law
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Business acumen with a degree or background in business or finance (a plus)
• Current Illinois license or eligibility for comity/waiver, or willingness to sit for the IL bar exam
• A portable book of business is required

Responsibilities

• Represent key clients as a trusted advisor in bankruptcy cases, asset-based lending, foreclosures, and debtor-in-possession financing
• Navigate complex legal landscapes including Illinois commercial mortgage foreclosure, forbearance, receivership law, and UCC Article 9 remedies
• Engage in diverse transactions such as investor representation, financial sponsor transactions, exchange offers, debt-for-equity swaps, and bankruptcy litigation
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients

Qualifications

• Significant experience in representing creditors and lenders in restructurings and business reorganizations
• Expertise in bankruptcy cases and asset-based lending practices
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients effectively

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
