Our education center, located in California, is seeking talented writing mentors/editors to join our team! We specialize in college admissions counseling for junior high and high school students (6th-12th grade) as well as college students. Our methodology is focused on developing each student's individual talents and traits to help them stand out from the competition. We are looking for enthusiastic mentors who can guide our students through the college admissions essay process with creativity and passion. As a one-on-one writing mentor/editor, you will have the opportunity to: Use your skills to help students reach their full potential by guiding them through pre-writing exercises, outlines, and essay drafts via online video meetings and email. Serve as an intellectual mentor, bringing fresh ideas and resources to students' attention to help them craft compelling essays. Provide an organized critique of essay revisions regularly and assist students in bringing their essays to completion and perfection. Keep students accountable and on task for timely submissions. Qualifications for this role include: A Master's degree from a very selective college in a field related to English or Journalism. Previous essay editing experience with college application essays is required, with a track record of helping students get into selective colleges. Good work ethics and close communication with our team. Excellent interpersonal skills and proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Outlook. Familiarity with using online video technology like Zoom and possession of necessary equipment like a working laptop, webcam, and connected internet. This is a part-time remote position, and we offer competitive pay starting from $30.00 per hour.
