Skills

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric experience under supervision in a residency program
  • New York State Board of Psychiatry certification and license
  • Current DEA registration
  • Strong diagnostic skills and excellent knowledge of current DSM criteria
  • Familiarity with crisis assessment tools and techniques
  • Solid working knowledge of general psychiatric principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care by conducting thorough evaluations and assessments
  • Diagnose or rule out mental disorders and prescribe/manage medication
  • Participate actively in incident reviews, treatment planning, and case conferences
  • Conduct regular follow-up appointments to monitor patient progress
  • Maintain detailed records of each patient’s diagnosis and treatment effectiveness
  • Provide emotional support and strategies to help patients manage their mental health
  • Stay up-to-date with new developments in psychiatry and mental health

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
  • Minimum of 3 years of psychiatric experience in a residency program
  • Certification and license from the New York State Board of Psychiatry
  • Current DEA registration
  • Strong diagnostic skills and interpersonal communication
