The Engineering Technician II (field service tech) will play a crucial role in supporting our photolithography equipment customers in Central NY, between Syracuse and Albany. This junior-level position involves training to support Canon’s lithography equipment (steppers and scanners) and requires a full-time presence at assigned office(s)/worksite(s). You will be part of a team dedicated to enabling cutting-edge technology in semiconductor manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor and inspect equipment to prevent malfunctions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and provide periodic reports.
  • Ensure adequate inventory of service parts and equipment for repairs.
  • Provide training and assistance to technicians and basic instruction to customers.
  • Participate in ongoing technical training to expand expertise.

Qualifications

  • Customer-facing role requiring compliance with customer policies, including potential COVID-19 vaccination.
  • Associates degree or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of related (Electromechanical) work experience, preferably in semiconductor equipment or engineering.
  • Experience with lithography and high precision equipment preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record necessary for travel, with potential for 60% travel requirement.

Education Requirements

  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a field service engineer or technician position in semiconductor equipment.
  • Experience with high precision equipment is advantageous.
