The City of Clinton Fire & Police Commission is accepting applications to create an eligibility list for the position of Driver/Engineer. Candidates must complete the NTN Fireteam exam & PSSA by October 31, 2025. The Driver/Engineer will play a crucial role in providing Fire, Rescue, Hazardous Materials Response, Fire Prevention/Safety Education, Basic Life Support - Non-Transport EMS, and First Responder - Non-Transport EMS Services to the communities served by the Clinton Fire Department.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting salary: \(51,318.70, with the potential to advance to \)87,494.06 after 25 years of service.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to emergency calls and provide fire suppression and rescue services

Qualifications

  • Minimum age of 21 and under 35 at the time of application
  • U.S. citizenship
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid EMT-B certification from the Illinois Department of Public Health

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required

Education Requirements Credential Category

High School Graduate/GED

Experience Requirements

  • Must provide a valid CPAT Card with Ladder Climb issued within 12 months of application
  • Must meet background check requirements and pass medical and psychological testing prior to hire
