The Ocoee Fire Department is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Firefighter, with a preference for Firefighter/Paramedics. While Paramedics are preferred, EMTs may also apply if they are willing to obtain their paramedic certification within 36 months of hire. This role involves responding to emergencies, performing fire suppression, prevention, and rescue operations, while operating firefighting apparatus and equipment, all within a supportive community environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual salary of $47,239.34
  • Additional $9,500 for Paramedic Incentive

Qualifications

  • Age: Minimum 18 years
  • Valid Florida driver’s license without restrictions
  • State of Florida certification in Firefighter Minimum Standards
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers and ACLS certification
  • Preferred: State of Florida Paramedic certification and A.A./A.S. Degree

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Firefighter Minimum Standards certification required

Experience Requirements

  • Completion of CPAT and FireTEAM through the National Testing Network required prior to interview
