The Village of Lake Zurich Fire Department is seeking dedicated individuals to fill Firefighter/Paramedic positions. We currently have 2 open positions available. Candidates must successfully complete the NTN FireTEAM exam, PSSA, and PHQ as part of the application process. This role involves rigorous physical and technical training and requires EMT-P certification upon hire.

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: \(82,282 - \)120,899 Annually

Skills

• Basic Operations Firefighter (Firefighter II) certification
• Valid Illinois or Nationally Registered EMT-P certification
• Ability to pass the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) with ladder certification
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls and provide medical assistance as a Paramedic
• Participate in fire suppression activities and fire prevention education
• Maintain equipment and vehicles in good working order

Qualifications

• Applicants must be under 35 years of age at application unless exempt by State Statute
• United States Citizen or Naturalized Citizen
• High School Graduate or GED
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to read and speak English fluently

Education Requirements

• Basic Operations Firefighter (Firefighter II) certification from the Illinois Office of the State Fire Marshal
• EMT-P certification required at the time of hire

Experience Requirements

• Prior experience in emergency services preferred but not required
• Candidates must provide proof of enrollment in a State of Illinois, IDPH-approved paramedic program if applicable
