We are seeking a highly specialized and experienced Medical Examiner / Clinical Pathologist to provide expert forensic pathology services in support of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG), specifically the Behavioral Analysis Units (BAUs). This elite, non-personal services contract role focuses on delivering forensic expertise to assist in complex federal, state, and international investigations, including child abductions, homicides, and sensitive death investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site case consultations, telephone reviews, and collaborative strategy sessions with FBI investigators
  • Review complex forensic pathology case materials for validity and analytical accuracy
  • Provide high-level expert analysis on sensitive investigations
  • Assist investigative teams in interpreting forensic findings
  • Recommend advanced investigative pathology techniques
  • Prepare written reports and expert opinions
  • Develop and deliver forensic pathology training materials for FBI personnel
  • Coordinate with FBI Special Agents and maintain professional judgment

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Successful completion of an accredited Pathology Residency (3–4 years)
  • Dual Board Certification required: Forensic Pathology AND Anatomic Pathology
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional, post-fellowship experience in forensic pathology
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory

Education Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
