The Gas Credit Analyst II plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the credit department within the oil and gas sector. This position involves managing new counterparty setups, evaluating credit limits, reviewing contracts, addressing customer inquiries, mentoring teammates, and monitoring credit exposures. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting and finance principles, with a focus on gas marketing and the natural gas trading space, especially exposure to ICE.

Skills

  • Solid experience in gas marketing and natural gas trading
  • Familiarity with industry tools such as Paragon, Endure, ICE, Experion, S&P IQ, and Moodys
  • Strong skills in Power BI

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate reviews of credit terms within counterparty agreements and provide recommendations
  • Issue letters of credit and guarantees according to company guidelines
  • Develop positive relationships with internal and external counterparties
  • Make decisions regarding credit limits and resolve complex credit problems within company guidelines
  • Mentor junior team members as needed
  • Produce reports on credit activities and operations on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years working in an accounting/finance environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of finance and accounting principles and financial documents
  • Ability to conduct ratio analysis

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of five (5) years of oil and gas experience in an accounting/finance area preferred
