1 Source is seeking a Service Desk Technician I to work collaboratively with contractors and federal staff at the Department of Energy (DOE). This role involves reviewing computer systems in terms of machine capabilities and man-machine interfaces, along with preparing reports and studies regarding hardware/software for systems and applications. The ideal candidate will ensure that problems are properly identified and that solutions effectively meet user requirements, working under general supervision.

Skills

  • Support for classified and unclassified networks serving 4000 users
  • General desktop support expertise
  • Proficient in general email support
  • Familiarity with Entrust applications and unified communications
  • Experience in account management and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of remote access tools such as DameWare and Skype for Business
  • Proficient in using TicketWeb (SolarWinds) for ticket logging
  • Strong documentation skills for knowledge base updates

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 Help Desk support (phone, email, or in-person)
  • Follow established processes using Active Directory for user account management
  • Resolve user issues efficiently using remote access tools
  • Document known fixes and maintain knowledge base for future reference
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Top Secret security clearance or DOE “Q” clearance required
  • TS/SCI security clearance preferred

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

Experience Requirements

  • Relevant experience in technical support or help desk environment preferred
