Summary Description: We are seeking a Junior MUMPs Developer to join our company and help with the development and maintenance of MUMPs code. As a vital part of our team, you will be working on innovative applications in an agile development environment. Location: Remote Responsibilities: - Participate in the full release project lifecycle in an agile development environment. - Develop and maintain MUMPs code using modern software methodologies. - Ensure that the quality and security standards are met for the smooth functioning of the company's systems. - Contribute to the creation of innovative applications with web development tools. - Collaborate effectively with clients and team members. - Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field. - Fresh graduates and individuals passionate about software development are welcome. - Familiarity with MUMPs is a plus. However, you will be thoroughly trained. - Adaptable to an agile development environment. - Possess passion for modern software design and development methodologies. - Possess excellent attention to detail to ensure quality and security standards. - Ability to work within a team environment and effectively communicate ideas and concepts. Security Requirements: - Ability to obtain/maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust. - U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident who has resided in the United States for at least 3 years. Our commitment to security includes a thorough review process, which may cover the following areas: - Reviewing the past 5-10 years or, in some cases, a lifetime of events. - Background checks, including OPM Security Investigations Index (SII), DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII), National Agency Check (NAC) records, FBI name and fingerprint checks, and credit report checks. - Written inquiries to previous employers and references listed on the application for employment. - Potential interviews with the subject, spouse, neighbors, supervisors, coworkers, and law enforcement checks. - Court and education records verification. Tasks/Activities: - Follow the VIP OI&T Delivery framework, and adhere to the VA's One-VA Technical Reference Model (TRM). - Use tools such as POLARIS calendaring, VIP Request (VIPR) portal, and ServiceNow. - Contribute to Kernel Installation and Distribution System (KIDS) builds. - Prepare documentation, including System Design documents (SDD) and Interface Control documents (ICD), as per the Veteran-focused Integration Process (VIP). - Develop code with guidance and independently using the VPE Editor or Cache Studio. - Participate in design activities and code reviews, fostering collaboration within the development team. - Assist technical writers in gathering essential technical information for competency development, past performance, and proposals. - Provide documentation changes as needed. - Analyze and resolve technical issues. - Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure smooth project execution.
