Description

As a Lead Driver, you will play a crucial role in substituting for drivers on open routes, supporting them in completing their routes, and providing operational support as directed by the Route Manager. This includes mentoring new drivers and participating in various routing projects and developmental programs to enhance the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-the-job training for new drivers and retrain those reassigned to new routes
• Observe and coach new drivers for safety and performance
• Operate vehicles in compliance with safety laws and regulations
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles
• Report unsafe situations or service-related issues to the Route Manager
• Attend training programs and meetings as required
• Work with the Route Manager to improve efficiencies
• Communicate customer requests and report repair needs for containers
• Maintain training documentation and records

Qualifications

• Acceptable driving record required
• Hold a current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with an air-brake endorsement
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
