Description

As a Lead Driver at Waste Management, you will substitute for drivers of open routes, assist in completing routes, and provide operational support as directed by the Route Manager. This role includes training new drivers, retraining, and mentoring them in best practices to ensure safety and performance standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-the-job training and retraining for new drivers
  • Observe and coach drivers to ensure safety and performance standards are achieved
  • Operate the vehicle in compliance with all safety rules and regulations
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and document findings
  • Report unsafe situations or service-related issues immediately
  • Collaborate with Route Manager to enhance route efficiencies
  • Maintain records of all training documentation
  • Communicate customer requests effectively to the team
  • Complete end-of-day documentation and checkout processes

Qualifications

  • Current Class A or B Commercial Drivers License with air-brake endorsement
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment DOT drug screen and physical

  • 5 years of relevant work experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years.
