As Legal and Judicial agencies transition to a technology-driven workflow, VIQ Solutions is a leader in providing transcription services to various industries. We are currently seeking experienced Legal/Judicial contract candidates with significant experience transcribing depositions and hearings. This is a 100% remote opportunity for Independent Contractors.

Content to be covered includes depositions, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. The work will involve intense attention to detail in discerning what is said, familiarity with legal terminology, and excellent grammar. In this role, you will process audio recordings, strictly adhering to style guides, to produce verbatim transcripts.

As an independent contractor for VIQ Solutions, candidates will have the opportunity to set their own schedule and receive guidance from our supportive, in-office team whenever needed. We have work available 24/7/365 to fit any schedule. Those with weekend availability are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Produce verbatim transcripts from audio recordings of judicial proceedings
  
• Strictly adhere to style guides and client-specific requirements
  
• Maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail in all work
  
• Collaborate with the in-office support team as needed
  
• Manage your own schedule to ensure timely delivery of transcripts
  

Qualifications

• Proven experience in legal transcription or court reporting
  
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to guidelines
  
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
  
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  

Education Requirements

• No specific degree required; experience is preferred
  

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Certification in court reporting or legal transcription is a plus
