We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to perform stat and routine clinical laboratory testing in technical discipline areas under the direction of a Laboratory Supervisor, Manager, or Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate results, maintaining licensure and competency, and adhering to regulatory requirements in Blood Bank, Chemistry, and Hematology sections of the laboratory. Additionally, the candidate will provide support to achieve department goals for service, quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, patient satisfaction, healthy work environment, and integration of intra and inter-departmental activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical laboratory testing according to established procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze proficiency testing samples and complete within the allowable time frame.
  • Demonstrate the ability to use good judgment and independent thinking in the correlation and interpretation of patient results.
  • Perform quality control procedures per protocol and complete necessary documentation.
  • Assist in monitoring reagents and supply inventories and utilize them appropriately.
  • Handle all problem and/or critical laboratory specimens/test results according to established procedures and in a timely manner.
  • Assist supervisor in meeting department regulatory agency requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Medical Technology (4-year bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • State of Florida Technologist License (or ability to obtain a license during the interview process).
  • Open to new graduates, training provided.
