Join the U.S. Steel team at USS-UPI, LLC, a world-class ISO certified steel finishing facility in Pittsburg, CA. UPI produces cold-rolled sheets, galvanized sheets, tin plate, and tin-free steel from hot-rolled coils supplied by other U.S. Steel facilities. We service sheet and tin mill products customers primarily in the western United States, with an annual production capability of approximately 1.5 million tons.

Skills

  • Proficient in electrical/electronic equipment maintenance and repair
  • Ability to analyze electrical equipment failures and perform repairs
  • Knowledge of circuit interpretation, wiring diagrams, and electrical systems
  • Skills in using a variety of tools and testing equipment, including voltmeters
  • Capacity to perform preventive maintenance work
  • Safe operation of cranes and mobile equipment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair all electrical/electronic equipment and components of the facility
  • Analyze electrical equipment failures to determine the cause and extent of repairs
  • Repair equipment failures using appropriate tools and devices
  • Interpret circuits, wiring diagrams, and drawings for installation and repair
  • Plan work procedures to determine material or replacement needs
  • Perform preventive maintenance to avert equipment failure
  • Inspect, dismantle, service, reassemble, test, and adjust equipment
  • Operate cranes and mobile equipment as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of heavy industrial electrical experience preferred
  • Professional knowledge of motors, computer systems, digital electronics, and power distribution systems
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays

Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or experience in a manufacturing environment
  • College or Technical Electrical Trade Education with Electrical Certification is a plus

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Technical Certification in Electrical Trade

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant heavy industrial electrical experience
