Skills

  • Proficiency in operating manual machining tools including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drilling machines
  • Ability to safely use overhead cranes and lift rigging
  • Capability to perform mechanical measurements using portable instruments like dial indicators and micrometers
  • Competence in reading and understanding technical drawings, sketches, and blueprints

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual machining tools to service industrial AC/DC electric motors and generators
  • Identify problems and make necessary adjustments to machinery
  • Follow service center safety procedures while operating equipment
  • Perform mechanical measurements and ensure precision in work

Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience as a machinist for electric motor repair preferred
  • Ability to read micrometer measuring equipment
  • Capability to operate manual lathes of various sizes
  • Ability to operate electro-plating equipment
  • Basic math function competency
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in machining or related field preferred

Experience Requirements

  • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a machinist, preferably in electric motor repair
