This unique role is an opportunity to lead the promotion and expansion of ABC-CLIO/Greenwood reference books into the US schools, public, and academic library markets. The Marketing Manager will be a creative self-starter excited about building brand recognition within the school and public library communities.

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, preferably in reference and/or K-12 education publishing
  • Understanding of high school curricula and library channels in the US market
  • Knowledge of library data feeds, SEO, and metadata best practices
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in CRM, ESP software, and CMS
  • Direct experience with digital marketing, conference planning, promotions, and advertising

Responsibilities

  • Lead marketing plans for ABC-CLIO/Greenwood books in US school and public libraries
  • Develop a holistic marketing strategy including sales support, outreach, and digital marketing
  • Create and develop marketing materials to position products effectively in the marketplace
  • Understand librarians’ needs to create targeted marketing campaigns
  • Consult with global departments to ensure effective communication and strategy alignment
  • Promote Libraries Unlimited textbooks to libraries as appropriate
  • Manage integration of ABC-CLIO data and rebranding efforts

  • Proven record of implementing effective marketing campaigns and strategies

  • Self-starter with strong ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred
