Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant: Responsibilities: The Medical Assistant Non-Certified provides superior patient care and performs administrative and delegated clinical tasks that support patients in a clinic-based environment as part of a care team led by the physician and/or advanced practice provider. Qualifications: Job Requirements : * High school diploma or GED equivalent. * Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge. * BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care. Preferred Job Requirements: * Associate’s degree. * Graduated from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program. * Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care * Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
