Responsibilities

  • Handle insurance claims and billing processes to maximize reimbursement
  • Investigate and resolve payment delays, denials, and rejected claims
  • Assist patients, providers, and third parties with billing inquiries in person and over the phone
  • Verify insurance coverage and update patient information
  • Submit appeals and prior authorizations as needed
  • Process credit card payments, refunds, and account adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards, OSHA regulations, and clinic policies
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to resolve billing issues and payment plans

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 2 years of medical billing experience, including customer service
  • Previous experience in a medical business office setting (preferred)
  • Knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and medical terminology (preferred)
