The Mid to Senior Level Environmental Chemist will play a vital role in our environmental consulting services. This position involves ensuring that laboratory work is completed accurately and analyzing the data received from the lab. The chemist will also participate in report preparation, data validation, and verification activities, ensuring the quality and reliability of environmental data for both federal and private sector clients.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to serve as both a team leader and team player
  • Knowledge of laboratory analytical methods and field sampling techniques
  • Familiarity with U.S. EPA SW-846 methods and regulatory programs (RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, CAA)
  • Experience in environmental laboratory or consulting

Responsibilities

  • Oversee chemical data acquisition, analysis, and interpretation for environmental projects
  • Develop project quality assurance plans and sampling plans
  • Serve as Chemical Data Quality Control officer for federal clients
  • Manage and oversee subcontracted analytical laboratory services
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior to mid-level chemists
  • Collaborate with the environmental database manager to improve the Environmental Data Management System (EDMS)
  • Support business development through proposal preparation and client interactions

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in environmental consulting or relevant industry
  • Passionate about producing quality work and contributing to a positive work environment
