The Mid to Senior Level Environmental Chemist will play a key role in the Environmental Sustainment and Restoration Consulting Services. This position requires a self-motivated professional who can work independently within a team structure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring lab work is completed accurately and reviewing and analyzing data returned from the lab, as well as completing reports and conducting data validation and verification.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Leadership and teamwork abilities
  • Knowledge of laboratory analytical methods and field sampling methods/equipment
  • Familiarity with U.S. EPA SW-846 methods and regulatory programs
  • Experience with field sample collection

Responsibilities

  • Oversee chemical data acquisition and analysis for environmental consulting work
  • Develop quality assurance and sampling plans
  • Serve as Chemical Data Quality Control officer for federal clients
  • Manage subcontracted analytical laboratory services
  • Supervise and mentor Jr- to Mid-level Chemists
  • Collaborate with database managers to maintain the Environmental Data Management System (EDMS)
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client meetings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or closely related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental consulting or related fields
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for producing quality work and maintaining a positive work environment

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in environmental consulting, laboratory, or relevant industries
