We are seeking a skilled Network Security Specialist contractor for a 6-month REMOTE contract position. This role is crucial for continuing critical operations and project work that safeguards the state’s networks and data center resources. The Network Security Operations team consists of four full-time employees, and this position will fill an ongoing vacancy and help address anticipated staffing needs in the near future.

Skills

• Familiarity with Cisco network devices and firewalls
• Proficiency in data protection technologies, such as Rubrik

Responsibilities

• Lead the VPN MFA Authentication Migration project
• Conduct Cisco Network Readiness Assessment Remediation (NRA)
• Oversee Rubrik Data Protection Deployment
• Replace ASA 5516 Cluster NS Firewall at EDC
• Upgrade Firewall Software Code on Cisco Cluster 4114 Firewalls
• Manage Production Mainframe Migration to Ensono
• Perform other critical operations and support tasks as required

Qualifications

• Proven experience in network security roles
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCNP Security) are preferred
• Strong understanding of network architecture and security best practices
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
