This 400+ bed acute-care hospital is seeking a full-time Med/Surg RN for the night shift (12 hour shifts). The Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing, and coordinating a treatment plan while achieving the goals of the nursing department.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients
  • Manage efficient flow of patient care including screening and preparation for exams
  • Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders
  • Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of South Carolina
  • Previous experience in a Med/Surg setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing principles and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Prior experience in a medical-surgical unit preferred
