Matrix Providers is hiring an Optometrist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at the Naval Medicine Readiness & Training Unit Portsmouth, Kittery, ME. In this role, you will examine, diagnose, treat, or prescribe courses of treatment for those suffering from diseases, injuries, or disorders of the visual system and associated structures. You will also promote prevention and wellness, conduct vision research, and advise on clinical recommendations pertinent to the field of optometry.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive hourly pay: \(85.00 - \)92.00
  • Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus eligible!
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
  • No nights and no weekends

Skills

  • Doctor of Optometry degree
  • Certification to use Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents
  • Familiarity with post-operative refractive surgery, including Excimer laser, PRK, and LASIK
  • Ability to conduct vision screenings and promote positive eye health
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical recommendation skills

Responsibilities

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat visual system diseases, injuries, or disorders
  • Promote prevention and wellness through education and training activities
  • Conduct vision research requiring novel approaches
  • Advise on clinical recommendations for national scope problems in optometry
  • Provide a full spectrum of clinical services for complex patient conditions

Qualifications

  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an optometrist
  • Preferred experience with post-operative refractive surgery
  • Graduate from an ACOE-approved optometry school
